Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs, Mr. Sandeep Singh said that youth clubs will be formed at the village level, which will contribute to social activities along with implementing government schemes. The draft plan of the Youth Club has been prepared by the Sports Department; soon the process of its formation will start in the villages.
Mr. Sandeep Singh said that Youth Clubs will play an important role by helping youth in achieving their goals and implementing schemes in rural areas. Through the youth club, not only the people will get the benefit of government schemes but also the youth will be able to take advantage of the youth-centric schemes designed for their future, he added. He said that the Sports Department will have a major stake in the formation of the Youth Club. The terms and conditions of the formation of youth club have been set by the department, under which the members of the youth club will be selected, he added.
He said that to empower the daughters and women of the village, the participation of women in the youth club will be 50 percent. He said that the youth club will be completely non-political; its relationship will be with the programmes run by the Sports and Youth Affairs Department or Nehru Yuva Kendra.
He said that to be a member of the club the youth will have to be a permanent resident of the concerned village and in the age group of 15 to 29 years. Members will be made irrespective of their religion, caste, and community in the club, he added. He said that the girls will have 50 percent representation among the Young office bearers. Priority will be given to youth award winners at national, state, and district levels, he added. He said that no family member of the young office bearers should be a representative of the then Panchayat. The tenure of the Young office bearers will be for 2 years, he added.
He said that the Youth Club will contribute to implement government schemes at the village level. The Youth Club’s participation in the campaigns run by the State Government and the District Administration will be mandatory, he added. He said that the Youth Clubs will organize at least two social activities in a month. He said that All Youth Clubs will follow the national and state youth policy. The Youth Club will organize one meeting in a month at the Division Level as well as at State-Level whereas a meeting will be organised in three months at the District-Level, he added.
The Chief Minister, Ministers, and officers of the concerned department will be present in these meetings. The Youth Clubs will put up the youth-centric and other suggestions to the department , so that new schemes can be implemented.
