No impact on vaccine Trials after Minister Vij caught COVID-19

The Principal Investigator, Dr. Savita Verma said that he was to be given the second dose on 18th December and two weeks after the second dose ,it is expected that body to give protection against Covid 19.

After successful completion of phase 1 and phase 2 trial on covid vaccine made by Bharat Biotech , Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences Rohtak has started phase 3 trial on the vaccine. Phase 3 trial was launched on 20th November 2020 & and Honorable Health Minister Shri Anil Vij offered to be the first volunteer during launch of the Phase III trial.

The Principal Investigator, Dr. Savita Verma said that he was to be given the second dose on 18th December and two weeks after the second dose ,it is expected that body to give protection against Covid 19.
But two weeks after the first dose of vaccine/ placebo Shri Anil Vij was found positive report for Corona test.
Dr. Savita Verma said that this trial vaccine shall be carried out on 25800 volunteers with a ratio of 1: 1 being given vaccines or placebo determining.


No one knows which volunteers have been prescribed vaccine or placebo. The code is opened only after the trial is completed and then it is known how many volunteers who were given vaccine have benefited. Dr. Savita Verma appealed to Volunteers, there is a risk of infection up to two weeks after the second dose of Vaccine (ie, 42 days after the first dose), so we have to wear proper face mask and maintain social distancing and use sanitizer and should not go to crowded areas. No major side effects of administering vaccine / placebo have been reported so far.
