According to the bulletin of Director Health Services dated August 23, out of total 603 deaths, the 55 to 64 age group category has witnessed 154 deaths.

In the total 54,386 COVID-19 cases in the state till August 23, the most number of people died has been found i.e. between 55 to 64 years age category as per the State Health Department data on COVID-19.

According to the bulletin of Director Health Services dated August 23, out of total 603 deaths, the 55 to 64 age group category has witnessed 154 deaths.

The mortality rate in this age category is 2.9% way higher than the average death percentage of 1.1%.

The people who fall under the age category of 65 to 74 years are the second highest vulnerable to COVID-19 whose mortality percentage is 5.7%.

The third highest number of deaths witnessed 101 is the age category between 45 to 54 years. The mortality percentage in this category is 1.3% little above than the state average.

The age category of 95 to 104 years have witnessed the highest mortality percentage of 16.7%. Till date, 12 people have been found infected of COVID-19 and two of them have died.

The second highest mortality percentage is the 85 to 94 age category which has recorded 12.0%. Till date 166 people have been infected with the virus and 20 of them have died.

The age category of younger age have shown stronger immunity as per the available data. In the age category of 0 to 5 years, of the total 976 children, only three died making the mortality percentage to 0.3%.

The 5 to 14 years age category has recorded 2927 infected patients of virus and no one died till August 23.

The age category of 15 to 24 years have recorded 8384 infected patients and six of them have died making the mortality percentage to 0.1%. Similarly, 25 to 34 Years category, a total 15105 patients have been recorded and of them 21 died making the mortality percentage to 0.7%.
